ENTRIES HERE ABOUT FILMS DIRECTED BY WOMEN

Below, in alphabetical order, are the titles of films that have been directed wholly or in part by one or more women and about which I have written somewhere on this blogsite. About some of these films I have written full pieces (“film reviews”), 300-word entries (“formal capsule film comments”) or more conversational jottings (“informal capsule film comments”). There are, in addition, various lists where you will find 300-word entries for some of these films. These are the lists: (A) 100 Greatest Films; (B) 100 Greatest Films from the Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe; (C) 100 Greatest Films from Germany, Scandinavia, Finland and Austria; (D) 100 Greatest English-Language Films; (E) 100 Greatest Films from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; and (F) 100 Greatest Asian Films. Because these entries are otherwise not indexed on this blogsite, I have followed each of those entries with the letter that corresponds to the list where you will find it. After the key letter, in some cases you will also see “fp.” This indicates that a full piece (“film review”) of that particular film, as well as the 300-word list entry, exists on this blogsite. Of course, there are many other full pieces on this blogsite about films listed below, but I have added “fp” only when there exists for that film here both a list entry and a full review. There are one or two films written about on this blogsite for which I could not determine the filmmaker’s gender, and these I have omitted from this list.
